What We Do
While one of the principal roles of the Attorney-General remains to advise the Federal Government on legal matters, by his entitlement to the right of the first audience before all superior courts of the land as well as to participate in proceedings of the Federal Cabinet, the National Assembly, and the Parliament, the Attorney-General also functions as a bridge between the three pillars of State, i.e. Executive, Legislature and Judiciary. The Attorney-General is also ex-officio Chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council and ex-officio member of the Judicial Commission for the appointment of superior court judges.
